Naveen-ul-Haq: Lucknow Super Giants were humiliated by Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator despite a four-wicket haul from Naveen-ul-Haq at Chepauk on May 24. LSG were forced to mute the words “mango”, “mangoes”, “sweet,” and “aam” as a result of constant trolling directed at Naveen-ul-Haq following LSG’s exit from the IPL 2023.
Naveen-ul-Haq’s Mango Mockery Sparks Twitter Backlash and LSG’s Word Ban
Due to a scandal that started after Naveen-ul-Haq posted Instagram posts making fun of Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore amid their lacklustre league stage play, LSG decided to ban all references to mango. Following RCB’s defeat by the Gujarat Titans, Naveen poked light of the team’s difficulties by calling them “sweet mangoes” and even tweeted a video of a laughing meme. Twitter users took advantage of the chance to remind Naveen about his mango-related comments after LSG’s loss to the Mumbai Indians. LSG responded by sharing a screenshot on Twitter that showed they had muted references to phrases relating to mangos.

LSG’s Defeat Overshadowed by Bowler’s Four-Wicket Haul
Naveen performed excellent with the ball throughout the match against the Mumbai Indians despite being the target of trolls. The Afghan bowler took four wickets, including those of Cameron Green, Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Rohit Sharma. LSG, however, suffered a discouraging defeat by a score of 81 runs as a result of their batting struggling in the 183-run chase. After having their chances of winning the championship this year shattered, Lucknow Super Giants vowed to come back stronger the following year. Mumbai Indians, meanwhile, advanced to Qualifier 2, where they will take on Gujarat Titans. The victor of that game advances to the championship game to face the dangerous Chennai Super Kings.
