Wrestlers Protests: The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh is the target of charges of sexual harassment, according to former wrestler and father of the Phogat sisters, Mahavir Phogat, who spoke about the protests in Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. ‘This is a life-or-death circumstance. We’ll hold a dharna until justice is served. In this battle, we stand together. Babita (Phogat) is also a part in this fight,’ according to Mahavir Phogat.
There is no politics involved in the matter- Mahavir Phogat
‘A dharna was held in January as well. The scenario was something we wanted to let the sports minister, BJP leader JP Nadda, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah know about. They would have dealt with the problem. There is no politics involved in the matter, he continued, adding that although a committee was established to look into the allegations, it did not do justice and no report was submitted. It is untrue to claim that my relatives are attempting to seize control. Our family is present. We won’t support the WFI in any way. In 2014, we were aware of some of the allegations, but we refrained from speaking out since my three children were competing in the Commonwealth Games. They would not have been permitted to participate if we had spoken out back then due to indiscipline,’ Mahavir Phogat said.

We are receiving a lot of support, and if necessary, we would cornered Delhi. We are against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, not the government,’ Mahavir Phogat declared.
