Manchester United: According to reports, Manchester United has enacted the “Cristiano Ronaldo rule,” which caps player salaries at £200,000 per week, in order to stop individuals from making “significantly more” than their teammates.
After Ronaldo, who was making almost £500,000 per week, departed the team in November of last year, the decision was taken. This is reportedly the next step in Erik ten Hag’s plan to put together a cohesive team for the club. Sources claims that the Dutchman and chief executive Richard Arnold decided to put the pay limitation in place.
Several players to be impacted by the new rule
David de Gea, the goalkeeper, will be the first to be impacted by this regulation since he now makes £375,000 per week and because his contract expires at the end of the season. The club aims to maintain that range going forward. Senior players like Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire, Casemiro, and Bruno Fernandes make between £180,000 and £200,000 per week.
Marcus Rashford, meanwhile, may be a headache for the Red Devils. A one-year contract extension for him that has recently been triggered is thought to be worth £400,000 per week. It is uncertain if Rashford would consent to the new salary structure and renew his contract given the several European teams who are interested in his skills.
After leaving Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo agreed to a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Saudi Arabian team Al-Nassr. However, because the Saudi Pro League squad had used up all of their foreign players, the 37-year-old was ineligible to play for them. They have nine foreign players, one more over the league’s maximum, including Ronaldo.
Al Nassr to end contract with Aboubakar
In accordance with rumours, Al-Nassr found a solution by terminating their agreement with Vincent Aboubakar.
At the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup, Aboubakar led Cameroon with two goals and one assist. He is presently an unsigned free player. It’s interesting that a transfer to Manchester United has lately been suggested for him. A loan offer for his services was reportedly made by the English giants and the Turkish team Fenerbahce.
Because Ronaldo’s departure has only left Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial as alternatives for strikers, both of whom are prone to injury, the Red Devils are allegedly hoping to sign a forward this month.
