MI vs DC WPL 2023: During the 18th match of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) at Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai on Monday, Radha Yadav, a player from Delhi Capitals, made fun of the fans of Mumbai Indians, who were supporting the home team. This happened when the DC bowlers had taken four quick wickets and reduced MI to a score of 21/4. However, Pooja Vastrakar and Harmanpreet Kaur managed to stabilize the innings and Vastrakar hit some boundaries that cheered up the MI fans.
Radha Yadav’s catch & reaction
In the 11th over of the match, Pooja Vastrakar, who had scored 26 runs off 19 balls, tried to hit a delivery from Jess Jonassen that was pitched outside the off stump. However, Vastrakar only managed to hit the ball with the toe end of her bat, and it went straight into the hands of Radha Yadav, who was positioned at long-off.
After catching the ball, Radha Yadav celebrated by cupping her ears, which was a gesture meant to quiet down the already-silent crowd of Mumbai Indian fans. This type of celebration is commonly seen in football matches, and people on social media quickly shared their opinions about it. Some even compared it to the early days of Virat Kohli’s similar behavior on the field. It’s worth noting that this match was between the two teams at the top of the table, and a win for Mumbai Indians could help them qualify directly for the final round.
