MI vs GT IPL 2023: The highly anticipated thriller between Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians is currently underway at the Wankhede Stadium. GT won the toss and invited Mumbai to bat first, however, their decision was completely proved wrong by SKY as the home team posted 218/5 in 20 overs. In response, the visitors did not have a good start and lost the third wicket within the powerplay at 26 runs. The dismissal was of Shubman Gill, which has now created stir on social media.
Madhwal cleans up Shubman Gill
In an earlier phase of the match, Suryakumar Yadav, the prominent batsman for Mumbai Indians (MI), unleashed havoc by smashing a remarkable century, amassing 103 runs from just 49 balls. He displayed a mix of calculated risks and innovative shots, hitting 11 fours and 6 towering sixes, leaving a significant impact on the game.
Following Suryakumar’s impressive performance, Mumbai Indians set a formidable target of 218 runs for Gujarat Titans (GT). Unfortunately, GT faced a woeful start to their run chase as both Wriddhiman Saha and Hardik Pandya were dismissed cheaply, leaving the visitors in a precarious situation at 12-2 in 2.3 overs. However, Shubman Gill and Vijay Shankar joined forces to revive the run chase. Gill, in particular, faced difficulties in finding boundaries.
By the end of the third over, GT’s score stood at 17-2. As the fourth over commenced, Akash Madhwal took the ball in hand. On the fifth delivery, Madhwal delivered a short-of-a-length ball on the off-stump. Gill attempted a pull shot but failed to make contact, resulting in his off-stump being uprooted and his dismissal.
