MI vs UPW WPL 2023: Mumbai Indians star bowler has etched a big record on to her name with her stunning bowling performance in the WPL 2023 Eliminator match. In the match against UP Warriroz, Issy Wong became the first-ever player to scalp a hat-trick in the tournament. Her stunning spell completely derailed the UP Warriorz team in a chase of the massive target. The crowd erupted in joy as she took the third wicket.
Issy Wong picks three in three
Wong’s impressive bowling skills led to three consecutive UP Warriors players being dismissed and sent back to the pavilion. Spectators at the ground were thrilled to witness such sharp bowling. Wong dismissed UP’s captain Alyssa Healy for 11 runs on the second ball of the third over of their innings. This led to the much-needed start MI was looking for.
Wong’s 13th over created havoc on the ground as she dismissed three consecutive UP batters. Wong dismissed Kiran Navagire for 43 on the second ball, Simran Sheikh for 0 on the third ball, and Sophie Ecclestone for 0 on the fourth ball, completing the first hat-trick in the tournament. She finished the spell with figures of 4 wickets for 15 runs in 4 overs, an impressive performance. With the hat-trick, the team was left with a score of 84 runs in 7 wickets in 12.4 overs.
