Vinesh Phogat is battling with her emotions at the moment and might be thinking about taking back her retirement.

Vinesh Phogat took a drastic decision a few days ago when she announced that she would be retiring from wrestling. The decision came after a heartbreaking outing at the Paris Olympics 2024.

Vinesh made history as she reached the finals of the 50kg Women’s freestyle wrestling event. But her dreams came shattering down the next day as she was found 100 grams over the weight limit.

This resulted in Vinesh getting suspended from the event without a medal. It left a huge wound in the wrestler’s heart as she made this dire decision to retire from the sport altogether.

Fans And Family Heartbroken

This decision not only affected Vinesh but her fans and family were also left heartbroken. In an emotional post, the Indian wrestler stated how devastating she was feeling at that moment.

She wrote, “Mom wrestling won against me, I lost. Forgive me, your dream, my courage is all broken, I don’t have any more strength now. Goodbye wrestling 2001-2024”.

Her uncle Mahavir Phogat stated that they would talk to Vinesh once she returned from Paris. The family will try and speak to her about taking back the retirement and trying for the LA 2028 Olympics.

However, in her recent post, Phogat expressed everything that was going on inside her mind. She poured down her feelings about her future in this sport. And she might be reconsidering her retirement decision.

She wrote “Maybe under different circumstances, I could see myself playing till 2032 because the fight in me and wrestling in me will always be there. I can’t predict what the future holds for me, and what awaits me in this journey next, but I am sure that I will continue to fight always for what I believe in and for the right thing.”
