BCCI: The Indian cricket board earned INR 7606 Crores in revenue in the five years to 2021-22, according to a rare peek at the sports body’s accounts in the country’s parliament. BCCI Income Details
In a written reply to a query in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary detailed the BCCI’s income and expenditures during the previous five years based on forms submitted. He detailed recent BCCI earnings before parliament, stating that BCCI collected Rs 7,606 crore in income and spent close to Rs 3,064 crore in the fiscal year 2021-22. In 2020-21, its revenue was Rs 4,735 crore and its expenditure was Rs 3,080 crore.
Due to its massive wealth in comparison to other national cricket boards, the all-powerful BCCI is sometimes believed to dictate the decisions in international cricket. The BCCI will also receive about $230 million each year between 2024 and 2027, which is 38.5 percent of the International Cricket Council’s yearly profits of $600 million.
