MLC 2023: The first match of Major League Cricket 2023 ended in an emphatic fashion. The rude timings of the match are like torture for Indian fans. But when you see batting like that, the sleepless night becomes worth it.
On one hand, India was throttling West Indies with a run rate of less than 2 RPO. David Miller and Devon Conway made sure that the Indian audience get their fun. The opening match of Major League Cricket had everything you want in a T20 match.
From amazing batting to deadly bowling to a potential match-saving inning. The opening match had everything. And if this tournament is going to go this way, we are in for a treat.
Killer Miller
LA Knight Riders won the toss and captain Sunil Narine decided to bowl first. This decision was looking right when TSK lost the first two wickets in the powerplay including Faf Du Plessis getting out on a duck.
But Devon Conway and David Miller scored half-centuries to save the innings and get their teams to a very good score. Conway scored 55 runs from 37 deliveries and became the first player to score a half-century in MLC. David Miller played a superb innings of 61 runs in just 42 deliveries.
Mohsin Madness
Mohsin Khan took 4 wickets to completely dismantle LA Knight Riders’ tail while Rusty Theron took two wickets in just the first over to send them down a spiral. Andre Russell tried to save the match and played a valiant innings of 55 runs in 34 deliveries.
But Dwayne Bravo got rid of him to seal the victory for Texas Super Kings. This is the seventh time that Bravo has made Russell his prey.
