MLC 2023: Seattle Orcas became the first team to qualify for the finals of the inaugural season of Major League Cricket. They defeated Texas Super Kings in a one-sided affair to book their place in the finals.

Now, Super Kings will have to face MI New York who defeated Washington Freedom in the eliminator to qualify for the qualifier 2. It will be the fifth time this year that Super Kings and Mumbai Indian franchise will face each other.

Mumbai Indians defeated Washington in a one-sided affair with the help of a brilliant inning by Dewald Brevis and the sensational bowling of Trent Boult. On the other hand, Quinton De Cock got back in form with a brilliant inning against Super Kings.

Boult Storm

While batting first MI New York scored 141 runs in 20 overs. Dewald Brevis scored a brilliant half-century and helped New York reach a respectable score. But this score was just a fighting total rather than a winnable win.

But Boult had other plans as he demolished Washington’s batting order by taking 4 wickets. And Freedom was only able to make 125/9 by the end of the 20th over. Resulting in 16 runs victory for MI New York.

A Comfortable Victory For Orcas

While batting first, TSK was only able to score 126 runs in 20 overs. Which was a very low score. Faf Du Plesis’s bad form continued as he was out on just 5 runs. And Super King’s batting never really took off.

In reply, De Cock played a sensational inning of 88 runs in just 50 deliveries. Orcas chased the target in just 15 overs and with the loss of just 1 wicket. With this victory, Seattle has made their place in the finals of MLC 2023 while IPL rivals will be ready for another franchise war.
