Mohammed Shami Opens Up About His Pain, Says ‘No One Can Leave Own Blood’

Mohammed Shami

Mohammed Shami: The closeness between India pacer Mohammed Shami and his daughter Aaira, who resides with the cricketer’s divorced wife Hasin Jahan, has been revealed. In a recent conversation, Shami disclosed how much he misses Aaira and how infrequently he speaks to her. The cricket player disclosed that Hasin Jahan doesn’t let Aaira talk to him very often. He also mentioned that since he and his divorced wife aren’t on speaking terms, he doesn’t get to meet Aaira in person. For those who don’t know, Aaira was born in 2015 and Shami wed Hasin Jahan in 2014.

Shami’s Reflection on Missing Family

“Who doesn’t miss their kids and family. Obviously, there are situations where not everything is in your hands. But if you ask me do I miss her (daughter), no one can leave their own blood,” Shami told News 18.

“I do speak to her sometimes. All depends on her, if she (Hasin Jahan) allows I talk to her. I haven’t visited her yet. I just want to wish her good health and a lot of success. Whatever is going on between her mother and me, that shouldn’t matter. I make sure that she is living a healthy life,” he added.

Post-ODI World Cup Absence

Shami, on the other hand, has not played since the ODI World Cup ended last year. He was absent from the tour of South Africa earlier this year, as well as the home series against Australia and Afghanistan that followed. The pacer did not participate in either of the first two Test matches against England, and it is unclear if he will be available for the rest of the series. “As of now there is little or no chance that Mohammed Shami (who is in the UK for ankle treatment) and Ravindra Jadeja will be fit for the remainder of the series,” said a PTI report on the players.
