Mohammed Shami: Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami has finally spoken on several burning topics in YouTuber Shubhankar Mishra’s show, and he also made his anger clear regarding the ball-tampering allegations of ex-Pakistani cricketer Inzamam-ul-Haq. This occurred just right after one of the matches between Australia and India in the recently concluded T20 World Cup, in which Inzamam claimed that ball tampering had taken place. Shami didn’t hold anything back in his response, airing out frustration and disappointment.
Mohammed Shami Speaks Out on Ball-Tampering Allegations
He has denied the allegations emphatically, referring to the strict monitoring prevalent in modern-day cricket. He said, “The Champions Trophy is to be held next year. When I go, I will take the World Cup ball and sit 10 or 20 people in the middle of the Panchayat and ask them which ball to cut. All these are stupid things, these are things to fool the other person, nothing like this happens, there are 40 cameras installed on the ground, if you do anything even a little, you will be caught immediately.”
Shami later responded to advise Inzamam-ul-Haq and has already pointed out the hypocrisy in his statements. “I would like to say one thing to Inzamam bhai, I respect him a lot, but if you do that skill then you are an artist. If someone else does it then what will you call him? You will call it knife-teasing or ball-tampering. When you are doing the same thing then it is not ball-tampering. The team that performs against them is always targeted there. India-Pakistan always have a 36 figure, but I do not expect that you, being an ex-player, say such things after being such a big player.”
Shami Dismisses Ball-Tampering Claims
Shami’s comments reflect a broader sentiment among cricketers who feel the integrity of the game should stay intact, and it is precisely these kinds of accusations that people, much more so former players, should make responsibly. His pointed comments toward Inzamam bring out once more the tension and rivalry between India and Pakistan in the cricketing world. The incident reminded us of the scrutiny and pressure that international cricketers are exposed to, and how such issues need to be addressed with clarity and respect. The way Shami talked candidly on the show underlined his commitment to the game and its integrity, setting an example for both present and former players to follow.
