Latest update on KL Rahul’s injury
During the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Rahul sustained an injury to his right thigh while sprinting towards the boundary to field a cover drive by Faf du Plessis off Marcus Stoinis’ delivery. The BCCI Sports Science & Medical Team now faces a huge task to prepare the experienced batsman and wicket-keeper, Rahul, for the World Test Championship final in London, scheduled from June 7th to 11th.
A senior BCCI official was anonymously quoted saying, “KL is currently with the team in Lucknow but he is leaving the camp on Thursday after watching the game against CSK on Wednesday. His scans will be done in Mumbai at the BCCI-designated medical facility. His case as well as Jaydev’s case will be handled by BCCI.”
Continuing further, he said, “Since he is an important member of the Test team, it would only be prudent that he doesn’t take any further part in IPL, Once the scans ascertain the degree of injury, the BCCI medical team will decide the course of action.”
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the National Cricket Academy (NCA) have not provided an official update or specific information regarding the nature of Rahul’s injury. According to the report, the prominent middle-order batsman will be travelling to Mumbai to undergo scans. Afterwards, he will proceed to the National Cricket Academy for rehabilitation.
