MotoGP Event 2023: Finally, the fans have gotten the answer to one of the longest saga in the bike racing industry. The six-time champion, Marz Marquez has been reported to leave his team Repsol Honda.
Even though the star is contracted with the company till 2024, various reports emerged in the past few months stating that he is about to leave. It was reported that Marquez was seeking a better bike elsewhere.
Many teams like Pramac Racing and shockingly even Gresini came out as the possible destination for Marquez. But Gigi Dall’Igna, the general manager of Ducati has come out and shut down all those rumors.
Never Say Never In This Sport
According to Gigi, it is a very difficult story and he does not think that Marc will join them. But the real eyebrow-raising statement came after this when he said that nothing is impossible in this sport.
It makes it clear that Marc will not join Ducati this time around but no one can say anything about the future. And considering how impressed Gigi was with Marquez, it is possible that Gresini will sign the Spanish star once his contract expires in 2024.
“Yes, yes, we don’t have to talk about how fast Marc Marquez is. We know that very well.” The General manager stated. It was also reported that Fabio di Giannantonio might lose his seat in Gresini, which might create an opening.
No Deadline On Moto GP Event 2023 Team
Talking about the team, Dall’Igna stated that Ducati does not want to set a deadline for the team. He also talked about Marco Bezzecchi’s issue and said that Bezzecchi is a rider who grew up in the Ducati family.
