Former Indian World Cup-winning captain MS Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket on Saturday.
He shared the update via Instagram post.
“Thanks a lot for ur love and support throughout from 19:29 hrs consider me as Retired,” MS Dhoni written in a post on Instagram.
The legendry captain was expected to feature in the upcoming season of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 in the United Arab Emirates and was spotted earlier today arriving in Chennai to join the team training camp before flying to the middle-east.
Dhoni has last played in Indian jersey in the semifinals of 2019 World Cup after that he is out of the game even at the domestic level. There were many speculations after the World Cup about his career and his future with the Indian team and now he announced his exit from the international cricket officially.
Earlier Dhoni quitted playing Test cricket and stepped down as the One Day captain of the Indian team in 2017, even that time people were showing their emotions attached with the legendry player but this time he said a final good bye to all his fans and cricket lovers.
Meanwhile, the BCCI president Sourav Ganguly, Virat Kohli, and many other cricketers tweeted and congratulated MS Dhoni for his great career.
