Mukesh Ambani: Several English teams, including juggernauts like Manchester United and Liverpool, have lately been placed up for sale. Both of these clubs’ current shareholders are eager to sell their interests for a fair price. Even though it’s still early in the search for new teams, Indian businessman Mukesh Ambani is apparently interested in purchasing an English soccer team. But that team is Arsenal, a North London-based club, not Manchester United or Liverpool, as prior rumours had suggested.
Glazer Family to give up on ownerships
Three weeks have passed since the Glazer family chose to end their 17-year ownership of Manchester United and declared their desire to sell their holdings in the club. Even at that point, rumours of Ambani’s affiliation with the Red Devils started to circulate. However, the eight richest man in the world is reportedly interested in Arsenal, according to recent reports.
As per the sources, Akash Ambani, 31, is a huge Arsenal fan, and if the Ambani family ever entered the world of professional football, they would want to go for the London side. Soon after the Fenway Sports Group (FSG) decided to sell the Merseyside club, Ambani’s potential interest in buying Liverpool was also raised.
Mukesh Ambani could buy Arsenal soon
India’s interest in investing in non-cricket enterprises is growing, the research continues. Apparently interested in the project is Mukesh Ambani, who is currently estimated to be worth USD 90.7 billion. At the moment, Kroenke Sports & Entertainment holds the majority of Arsenal’s shares. If the reports are to believed, Mukesh Ambani could finalise the deal soon.
Mukesh Ambani also owns a cricket franchise named “Mumbai Indians” which plays in the Indian Premeir League.
