Neeraj Chopra: Reigning Olympic champion and the golden boy of India clinched another gold medal at the Federation Cup 2024. It was another comeback by the Olympic champion that secured him the gold medal once again.
Earlier this week, Neeraj requested the fans to attend the Federation Cup at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneshwar. The organizers expected a crowd in the finals because Neeraj was going to be there.
And they were not disappointed as fans really entered the stadium with the hope of seeing their javelin star win again. And he did not disappoint them with a 4th round comeback that clinched him the medal.
Another Gold For Neeraj Chopra
Once again it was a slow start for the 26-year-old. We have seen him struggling with this problem for a while now. He once again struggled in the first few rounds and took his time to get going.
He was in second position after the end of the third round with DP Manu being at the top with his throw of 82.06m. But Chopra took the lead in the fourth round with a throw of 82.27 meters.
It was the first time in three years that Chopra took part in a domestic competition. He last took part in the same event back in 2021 where he also clinched the gold medal with a throw of 87.80 meters.
‘Thankyou To Everyone’
Neeraj Chopra made sure to thank every fan who stayed till the end of the medal ceremony. He stated, “Sabhi athletes ko support karne ke liye, thank you.”(Thank you for supporting all the athletes).
He has previously said that fans give extra confidence to every athlete and help them perform at the highest stage possible. Neeraj is looking at that magical 90-meter mark and would like to touch that at the upcoming Paris Olympics.
