Neeraj Chopra’s Journey to Becoming India’s Olympic Champion
Neeraj Chopra’s illustrious career started with his historic gold medal triumph at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, where he made history by becoming the first athlete from India to win an Olympic gold medal in athletics. He won the competition with a stunning throw of 87.58 metres, cementing his place in Indian athletic history. Neeraj built on his Olympic victory and proceeded to dominate in tournaments after that. He once again displayed his talent by winning the gold medal at the renowned Diamond League in Zurich with a towering throw of 89.63 metres. His reputation as a competitor to be reckoned with in the javelin field was further enhanced by this excellent performance.

Neeraj Chopra’s Record-Breaking Javelin Throw
Chopra won the Doha Diamond League competition with a throw of 88.67 metres, catapulting him to the top of the rankings. Jakub Vadlejch, who competed in the same event and won the silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics, came in second with a best throw of 88.63 metres. With a best throw of 85.88 metres, world champion Anderson Peters, who had exceeded 93 metres in Doha the year before, came in third place. In a post-event interview with the media, Chopra stated that his goal was to maintain consistency leading up to the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
