Nepal Cricket Team: The vice-captain of the Nepali national cricket team, Rohit Paudel, has been apponted as the captain of the team as Sandeep Lamichhane’s replacement.
The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) announced late Friday night that Paudel would take over as the national team’s captain in place of rape suspect Sandeep Lamichhane. Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) tweeted, “Rohit Paudel has been appointed as the Captain of the Nepal Men’s National Cricket Team.”

Lamichhane (22) was removed from the National cricket team on September 7 after he was charged with raping a minor. Currently in detention, Lamichhane is accused of violating Section 219 of the Criminal Code (2074). He faces a 10- to 12-year sentence if the accusation is found to be true.
Rohit has an unique record on his name
A three-match One-Day International (ODI) bilateral series between Nepal and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is scheduled for November 14, 16, and 18 at the TU ground in Kirtipur, Kathmandu, and will be captained by Paudel, a 20-year-old new skipper.
Paudel also holds the record for the most runs scored by a Nepali player in an ODI series. Paudel scored 126 runs in 107 balls last year while against Papua New Guineans, hitting 7 fours and 4 sixes.

Rohit made his debut four years ago
2018 saw the new captain Paudel make his ODI debut for the Nepali national side against the Netherlands. He also holds the title of being the fourth-youngest player from Nepal to join the national squad.
Paudel made his international series debut at the age of 15 years and 335 days, making him the second-youngest international player to do so. Hassan Raja of Pakistan, who played against Zimbabwe in 1996, holds the record for being the youngest player to play in an international match. He had only been alive for 14 years, 200 days.
