The first Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh in Rawalpindi has been in the headline since Day 1. First England batters played introduced the world to how worse can ‘Bazball’ be by scoring 657 runs in just 101 overs. England had four centurions in that particular innings.
Later in the second innings, Pakistan too batted well and posted 579 runs on board. Skipper Babar Azam has again been the main man for the ‘Men in Green’ in the middle with his 136-run knock.
After Babar scored a brilliant hundred, former England captain Michael Vaughan was impressed. Vaughan even termed Babar as ‘the best batter in the world across formats’.
“Class act @babarazam258.. Nothing more sure of a 100 than one for him on this pitch .. across all formats the best in the world .. #PAKvsEng,” Vaughan wrote.
While many trolled Vaughan by criticising Ralwalpindi’s pitch which has no help for the bowlers.
“That wicket was almost the game-changing moment,” said Jacks after the end of day’s play.
“It was a great day for us — seven wickets in the day — and as the match goes on, the pitch will get more turn.”
