Hardik Pandya: Although substitute India captain Hardik Pandya ended Tuesday’s third T20I in Guyana with a six, Indian cricket fans were left fuming. They were furious because the best all-rounder for India had prevented young Tilak Varma from scoring fifty at the opposite end. Tilak Verma remained unbeaten on 49.

Hardik Pandya hits match winning run
Fans anticipated that Hardik would give up the strike when two runs were needed off of 14 deliveries, allowing his partner, who is 20 years old, to reach what would have been a second straight half-century in his first three innings as an India player and also build confidence by scoring the winning runs.
However, it turned out that the opposition’s Rovman Powell’s half-volley was the most flawless, and Hardik Pandya chose to hammer it straight down the middle for a six to end the match. Fans on Twitter were in utter disbelief as to how Hardik could strip the talented Varma of his once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, even as the captain smiled and shook hands with Powell, who was gracious enough to congratulate him and Varma on the Indian victory.
They recalled the rare moment of MS Dhoni showing his emotions on the field when, during the 2014 T20 World Cup semifinal against South Africa, he deliberately played defensively with just one run needed. This allowed Virat Kohli, who had been excelling in the run-chase, to complete the match-winning play.
