Asia Cup 2023: The political battle between India and Pakistan cricket boards is not simmering down. With each passing day, a new controversy or statement comes out that risks putting the future tournament at risk.
Yesterday, Pakistan Cricket Board’s future chief, Zaka Ashraf, came out and criticized the hybrid model of Asia Cup 2023. Zaka criticized the approval for the hybrid model given by the current PCB’s chief Najam Sethi.
Will Honor The Proposal
Ashraf was seen angry over the hybrid model during the interview with ESPNCricinfo. He stated that he rejected the hybrid model but will honor the commitment now that ACC has taken its decision. But also stated that the hybrid model is not beneficial for Pakistan at all.
He also showcased his anger towards Sri Lanka getting most of the matches, and Pakistan left with only 4. The future PCB chief was disappointed that Pakistan did not make enough effort to host the tournament by itself, as it was decided by ACC before the debacle.

“I cannot do much about it but to honor the commitment. But going forward, every decision we make will be made for and in the interest of the country,” Zaka stated.
