New Zealand vs India, 1st T20I: No show from Pandya-led new team as rain play spoilsport

The first T20I between New Zealand and India has been abandoned without a ball bring bowled. The rain played a spoilsport and it seemed no ending for all fans present in the stadium and virtually.

Both the teams go into the game after being knocked out from the semifinal of the recently concluded T20 World Cup. India suffered a humiliating defeat from England by 10 wickets while New Zealand saw a thrashing by Pakistan.

One thing that both teams will focus on is come out of the defensive approach. India have added few IPL stars and likely to go out hard with new guns in the series.

Hardik Pandya, the new skipper has a lot of expectations from his young team and many veterans are backing the star all-rounder to go gaga in the series.

New team in the making

Plenty of questions arise with India having a new side for the series. In batting, it pertains to the entire line-up. In the bowling front, the return of Umran Malik has fans excited already.

“I came here for the U19 World Cup. Made my ODI debut here in 2019. Good to comeback (to New Zealand), feels good. Definitely, I have fond memories coming back to NZ, said Shubman Gill.
