“When I left Test captaincy I got message only from MS Dhoni and nobody else,” Virat Kohli said. “Lot of people have my number but only he had called. There are some connections with are genuine and it has some security. If you want to give me suggestions, give me one-on-one.”
Virat Kohli has never shied away from showing his appreciation of his former India MS Dhoni whether it is tweeting near midnight about his IPL innings or an even random Instagram post going into a big tournament.
“When you respect for someone and that’s genuine, then it looks like that because there is a sense of security on both sides. Neither does he need anything from me or nor do i need anything from him. I was never insecure of him, and neither was he,” Kohli added.
Kohli admitted he was able to ‘find that excitement back’ on his return for the multi-team event and lauded the current team environment that Rohit Sharma and the team management have managed to create.
“I was able to find that excitement back. And when I came here, the environment was very welcoming, the camaraderie with the boys is amazing, the environment in the team is amazing. I am absolutely loving playing at the moment again and I am feeling good with the way I am batting.”
