French Open champion Iga Swiatek managed to make it to the top 20 women tennis players with a jump of 37 places in the title win in Paris and career-best 17th in the WTA Ranking.
Rafael Nadal defeated Novak Djokovic 6–0, 6–2, 7–5 to win the 13th and final Grand Slam title of the Men’s Singles over Roland Garros and Roger Federer. ‘S highest Grand Slam title record, but his victory has not changed the top of the ATP Ranking.
Djokovic, who won the Australian Open title in February, is still the number one player in the world, while Nadal remains in second place. US Open champion Dominic Thiem is in third place and Federer in fourth place.
Nineteen-year-old Swiatek entered the French Open as the world’s number 54 player and is the lowest ranked female player to have won the Clay Court Grand Slam since the computerized WTA rankings began in 1975. She defeated Sofia Kenin 6-4 6-1 in the final. Although there is no change in the top 3 in the women’s rankings, Ashleyigh Barty, Simona Halep and Naomi Osaka remain in the first 3 places.
