PAK vs BAN Asia Cup 2023: Captain’s Knock
Shakib came onto batting when Bangladesh was 47/4. The top order collapsed and they needed a partnership. The skipper orchestrated a brilliant partnership with Mushfiqur Raheem. The pair scored 100 runs combined for the team.
Shakib played a brilliant innings of 53 runs in 57 deliveries with 7 boundaries to his name. He faced the wrath of the pace trio with ease and replied to them with similar intensity. It was a brilliant inning that will be remembered for a long time.
Unluckily, he lost his wicket soon after he completed his half-century as he tried to pull Faheem for a six but failed to cross the boundary line. But it was enough to pull Bangladesh out of a slump and guide them towards a respectable score.
Mushfiqur’s Half-Century
On the other hand, Mushfiqur Raheem has also scored a half-century. He played a slow and steady innings as compared to Shakib and it took him 71 deliveries to achieve the milestone. The Tigers are cruising towards a respectable score and they have these two to thank for that.
