PAK Vs BAN: Babar Azam poor run in test matches continues as he was dismissed for a 2-ball duck against Bangladesh. This series against Bangladesh was the start of Pakistan’s home tour in the WTC cycle and they had a horrid start.
Babar was called to bat early at the start as Pakistan’s opener Abdullah Shafique and Shan Masood were dismissed before the end of the 10th over. But things turned for worse when even Babar was dismissed on a duck.
The Bangladesh team was motivated ahead of the series and wanted to prove themselves. Shakib Al Hasan made it clear that they would compete and tackle the pace attack of the Pakistan team.
Babar Azam Horror Run
Babar came out to bat in the seventh over. And he was going back to the dressing room in the 9th over. This was one of the poor shows by Babar who played a ball way down the leg side.
It was a faint edge and Liton Das took a great catch while diving on the leg side. This was Babar’s eighth duck of his test career and he has been on a horrid run in this WTC 2023-25 cycle.
He has played 10 innings in this WTC cycle so far and had zero half-centuries to his name so far. In the last 13 innings, Babar has failed to cross the 40-run mark 11 times and has scored only 267 runs with an average of 20.53.
Starts A Meme Riot!
The fans were quick to notice and criticized the former Pakistan skipper heavily. This dismissal started a meme riot on social media as the fans trolled Babar’s form. There were some hilarious memes. But if Pakistan wants to qualify for the WTC final, Babar needs to step up.
