Despite losing the first two matches, New Zealand managed to draw level the five-match T20I series against Pakistan by winning the third match. The fourth game was abandoned due to rain. Chapman was the star performer of the series, scoring a total of 290 runs against a strong Pakistan bowling attack. This was an impressive feat considering New Zealand was without eight of its key players who were playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.
