PAK vs NZ: On Day 4 of the current second Test match between Pakistan and New Zealand at the National Bank Arena in Karachi, Naseem Shah, a rising pacer for Pakistan, opted to fix the wicket with a hammer and acting like the pitch curator.

The Test series has been a memorable one for the bowlers of both teams since they fought valiantly for breakthroughs while the batsmen had a good time, leading to the teams recording enormous totals on the scoreboard.

Naseem Shah takes matter in his own hands

As Pakistan and New Zealand try to win this one to win the series, even the series opener, which was played on a flawless flat surface, ended in a tie last week. The home side bowlers gave it their utmost to get wickets, but to no effect as the New Zealand batters were batting incredibly well. Naseem Shah seems to have had enough at one point when he took things into his own hands.

Shah took the curator’s hammer and attempted to level the footprints. The pitch curator watched in silence as he appeared to be enraged. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) shared the video on its official Twitter account.

Commentators put on a hilarious remark (PAK vs NZ)

Waqar Younis, who was commentating at the time, remarked, “Doesn’t trust the curator at all, he wants to do it himself and he’s making sure he takes his time.” The commentators enjoyed themselves on television while listening to Naseem Shah voice his concerns.

Naseem Shah’s second innings stint, which resulted in numbers of 1/43, was not very successful. As the Kiwis ultimately declared their innings at 277/5, with crucial half-centuries from wicketkeeper-batter Tom Blundell (74) and Michael Bracewell (74*), he took the wicket of opener Tom Latham for 62.

The hosts are in serious difficulty as they attempt to chase down a daunting target of 319 after losing two wickets—opener Abdullah Shafique and night watchman Mir Hamza—to close the day’s play without troubling the scorers.
