Neeraj Chopra: India’s star athlete Neeraj Chopra achieved a historic feat last night in Budapest, clinching India’s first-ever gold medal at the World Athletics Championships 2023 Final. Notably, Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem secured the second position and earned a silver medal. In a video, which has now gone viral on social media has captured the reactions of Pakistani public on Neeraj Chopra’s victory.

Neeraj Chopra secured the country’s first medal at the championship with his throw of 88.17 metres while Pakistan’s athlete threw for 87.82 metres. Both athletes have competed earlier in various tournaments, including the Olympics. Amidst the celebrations, a video from a renowned youtube channel “Cricket Ki Duniya” has gone viral on the internet.
The video shows the reaction of Pakistan’s common citizens to the finale. Surprising to many, the common folks of Pakistan praised Neeraj Chopra for his golden run across the tournaments. Meanwhile, many other also called out on their govt and federation for improving sports in their country while commenting that Arshad could have done better with practise.

This marks India’s third medal achievement in the World Athletics Championships. In 2003, Anju Bobby George secured the bronze medal, and in the previous year, Neeraj Chopra earned the silver medal. Neeraj Chopra’s triumphant gold win in the current event has established a significant milestone for him as he now holds gold medals across a range of prestigious competitions, including the Olympics, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, and the Diamond League.
