Paralympics 2024: Indian Paralympian and shooter Avani Lekhara created golden history once again. The Indian para shooter clinched her second gold medal at the Paralympics and successfully defended her title in the Women’s 10m Air Rifle SH1. She became the first Indian para shooter to do so. Her compatriot Mona Agarwal won bronze making it a double podium finish for India at the Paralympics 2024.
Avani Lekhara wins Gold Medal at Paris Paralympics 2024
The famous Paralympic shooter Avani Lekhara once again showed her top-class performance at the Paris Paralympics 2024 and gave India a golden start. The shooter broke her own Tokyo 2020 record and triumphed the glory. Avani Lekhara, 22 won two medals at the previous edition of the Paralympics and the athlete successfully defended her Tokyo 2020 crown. She made a score of 249.7 and became the most decorated Indian Para-athlete. She broke her Tokyo record by 0.1 showcasing the consistency and improvement in her game. She completed her duty as the biggest hope for a Gold Medal at the Paralympics 2024.
Mona Agarwal’s successful Bronze
Along with Avani Lekhara, Mona Agarwal also had a podium finish. She gave the sweet taste of Bronze to India with a total score of 228.7. She is 36 years old para-shooter from Rajasthan and this is her first Paralympics medal. The shooting contingent of the Paralympics 2024 is not disappointing India.
Just like the Olympics 2024 where Manu Bhaker became the first medalist. In the Paralympics 2024 also female Para athletes initiated the Medals tally for India.
