Neeraj Chopra and Arshad Nadeed have proven time and time again that when good people win everyone is happy for them. It feels like a personal victory to everyone when these people make it to the top.
After a historic Javelin final at the Paris Olympics 2024, both Nadeem and Neeraj stood on top. This was the first time that two South Asian individuals were on top of the podium together and the internet loved it.
‘He Is Like My Son’
But Neeraj’s mother won the internet when she was interviewed about the final. Firstly, she was proud of her son and stated that this silver is like gold to us. Further, she also stated how Neeraj was injured for a long time during the event as well.
She stated “We are very happy. For us, silver is also equal to gold. The one who got the gold is also like our son. I will cook his favorite food once he is back.” But her next statement made her an internet darling when she called Arshad like her own son.
“I am happy with the silver, the boy who got gold (Arshad Nadeem) is also my child, everyone goes there after doing a lot of hard work.” She referred to Nadeem as ‘Hamara Ladka’ and the internet can’t stop raving about it.

The fans were left in awe of Saroj Devi and her words. There were only praiseworthy tweets regarding both athletes and that is not the case usually when things are involving India and Pakistan.
Fans from both countries praised Neeraj’s mother and loved her humility. Neeraj’s father, Satish Kumar was also proud of his son’s remarkable efforts and also praised Nadeem in the process.
