Paris Olympics 2024: The boys have done it, they have gone ahead and defended their title in the Summer Games. After a heartbreaking day for every Indian, we finally got some redemption.
This is India’s first medal in the Paris Olympics 2024 after August 1, 2024. The wait has been dreadful, beyond heartbreaking, and was even cruel at certain points. But finally, the wait is over and we hope that the Indian contingent ends the Summer Games on a high note now.
The Indian team won their record 13th medal in hockey and heroically defended their bronze medal. They are the only team to win a medal in the Tokyo Olympics and the Paris Olympics.
Beautiful Farewell
This was the last match of PR Sreejesh who has been a hero to the Indian team. He made sure that no one was going to spoil his farewell and he was like a wall in front of the goal.
Spanish players tried again and again to breach that wall, but he and Amit Rohidas completely shut them down. The final whistle was like a relief to all the Indian players and fans around the world.
Sreejesh immediately got down on the field and was visibly emotional after the victory. The Indian players made sure to give Sreejesh a perfect player as everyone bowed down to his greatness. Harmanpreet Singh even put him on his shoulder to show his height in Indian hockey history.
Paris Olympics 2024: Signature Move
Sreejesh made sure to show his signature move to everyone as he got on top of the goal post. He did the same thing after winning bronze in the Tokyo Olympics and it is something that every Indian fan has come to love.
Sreejesh might be hanging up his boots but his legacy will live on forever. He will be hard to replace and his shadow will always remain on the Indian hockey team. No matter where they go, Sreejesh will live on forever.
