Paris Olympics 2024 and BTS Jin: BTS Jin is set to take part in the biggest sporting event in the world, the Paris Olympics 2024. The K-pop singer will participate in the torch-bearing event on the 27th of July (KST). The Olympic torchbearers are selected when they contribute significantly to their community. The Olympic sponsors and organizers are the ones to make the selections.
BTS Jin as Torchbearer
Selected as the torchbearer for the Olympics 2024, this is BTS Jin‘s first official overseas schedule after his military discharge. ‘The Astronaut’ singer will be joined by 11000 torchbearers from around the world. These torchbearers will be of different backgrounds, communities and professions, including notable athletes, sanitation workers, astronauts, Holocaust survivors and many more. The Olympic torch was lit in Greece and made its way to France, the previous month. It is expected to travel through 400 major locations, covering 12000 KM. The K-pop idol is scheduled to carry the torch on the 27th of July (KST). The location and date for Jin’s departure are not disclosed yet.
Paris Olympics 2024
The grand sporting event in the world, Paris Olympics 2024 will commence on 26th July 2024 and will last till 11th August 2024. The Opening Ceremony for the event is scheduled at 7:30 PM local time (11:30 PM IST). For the first time, the bold ceremony will not take place in a stadium but along the Seine River in Paris. The sporting event will feature more than 15000 athletes from 206 countries. There will be 32 sporting events. South Korea is set to send 142 athletes in 21 sports including medal expectations from Archery, Badminton, Fencing etc.
BTS Jin’s Work Front
The eldest member of the band was discharged from the mandatory military service on 12th June. He held a “Hug event” the next day to celebrate the 11th BTS debut anniversary. The singer also made a statement a few days back, that he is working on his album and that “he is next.” The ‘Worldwide Handsome’ is also set to appear in MBC TV’s Variety Show. Yesterday, the BTS member was also spotted leaving for Jeju Island with the FW Men’s Collection Gucci backpack which made ARMYs excited.
