Paris Olympics 2024: Indians And Their Love For The Dreadful Fourth Position At Summer Games; Watch

Paris Olympics 2024

Indian wrestlers had multiple heartbreaks at the Paris Olympics 2024 where they have finished on that dreadful fourth position.

Paris Olympics 2024 has been dreadful for the Indian athletes so far. Even after so many impressive performances and record-breaking outings, we have almost nothing at the medal table.

So far, India has only won three bronze medals. There are still a few events left, but we could have won so much more than what our tally states. There have been so many heartbreaks that this summer games might be cursed for us.

Paris Olympics 2024: Dreadful

We have had several athletes who came on that dreadful fourth position or failed to win the medal by the barest of the margins. While it is important to praise the winners, let’s also give the dues to the athletes who were so close to winning it but lost it by the barest of the margins.

Manu Bhaker

Manu Bhaker made history when she became the first Indian athlete to win 2 medals in a single Olympic event. But she also suffered heartbreak when she finished fourth in her favorite 25M pistol women’s final and missed out on her third Paris Olympics 2024 media.

Arjun Babuta

Arjun Babuta was so close to making history and was in the top three standings of the men’s 10m air rifle till the last round. But a couple of bad shots saw the rifleman drop down to fourth position in a heartbreaking fashion.

Ankita Bhakat and Dhiraj Bommadevara

Dhiraj had a tough outing in the Paris Olympics 2024. Firstly, he lost his single quarterfinal in Archery by 2.4cm. Later, he and Ankita failed to win the semi-final and the third-place match consecutively by a few points.

Maheshwari Chauhan and Anant Jeet Singh Naruka

How are you supposed to defeat a player who did not miss even a single shot? Both Maheshwari and Anant fought valiantly but Yiting Jiang of China did not miss a single shot as the Indian duo lost by 43-44 to the Chinese duo in the bronze medal match.

Lakshya Sen

Lakshya Sen had a wonderful outing in the summer games but a few bad moments resulted in him finishing fourth. But the future is bright for him and we know he will be even stronger in the 2028 games.

Nisha Dahiya

Nisha was in fine form and was destined to qualify for the semifinal in her wrestling category. But three injuries mid-match halted her journey when she was 8-1 up in the scoreline. Nisha still completed the match warning everyone that she would be back even stronger.

Vinesh Phogat

Is there anyone more heartbroken than Vinesh Phogat right now? After upsetting the undefeated Yu Susaki, fighting a political battle in her own country, Vinesh made the finals.

But she was suspended from the finals when she was found 100 grams over the weight limit before the finals. It was a tragedy, it was cruel and it might not make any sense to her.
