Paris Olympics 2024: Lovlina Borgohain One Step Away From History! Second Medal In Sight; Watch

Paris Olympics 2024

Lovlina Borgohain started her Paris Olympics 2024 campaign with a dominant victory and is now one step away from creating history.

Paris Olympics 2024: Tokyo Olympics bronze medalist Lovlina Borgohain started her 2024 campaign with a dominant victory. And in just one match she had made sure that everyone knew her name.

On a day that was great for the Indian athletes, Lovlina made sure to keep the momentum going. She also became the first Indian boxer to register a victory in the Paris Olympics 2024.

Borogohain prevailed 5-0 against Norway’s Sunniva Hofstad on Wednesday. She is now just one win away from adding to her Tokyo Bronze. A medal that she won in the 69kg category.

History In Sight!

Lovlina increased her weight limit a few years ago and is now competing in the 75kg category. She has now moved to the Quarterfinals and if she wins that bout, a medal will be secured for her no matter what.

But Lovlina is not thinking about that as her eyes are on the gold and nothing else. A color that she has been seeing a lot more since she has changed her weight limit. With her height, this weight limit suits her a lot more than the previous one.

If Lovlina wins the next bout she can become the first Indian boxer to win two Olympic medals. And with an undefeated record in 2024, it looks like she is ready to enter the history books.

Paris Olympics 2024: Tough Bout Ahead

The next bout will not be easy as Lovlina will face top-seeded Chinese Li Qian in the last-eight stage on August 4. But if someone knows how to climb seemingly impossible mountains, it is Lovlina.

Her match against Hoftsad has increased the hope of every Indian fan around the world. Lovlina was dominant throughout and never let Hoftsad come into the game. If she can replicate this in her next bouts, no one can stop her.
