Paris Olympics 2024: The Indian athletes are doing everything possible to win gold at the upcoming Olympics. The Ministry Of Youth Affairs and Sports’ Mission Olympic Cell (MOC) is also assisting them at every step this time.
On Friday, the Ministry approved the request of Vinesh Phogat to include her personal strength and conditioning coach for the Hungary Training Camp. The camp is scheduled from June 10 to June 21.
On the other hand, Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra will train in Finland for almost a month and will be accompanied by his coach Klaus Bartonietz, and physio Ishaan Marwaha.
Intense Training Camp Ahead
Vinesh will compete in the 50kg division in the upcoming Paris Olympics 2024. She had requested assistance from the Ministry towards his trainer Wayne Lombard’s airfare, visa fees, and local transport in Hungary.
All these requests have been approved by the Ministry. The Ministry has also approved Phogat’s request to compete in the Grand Prix of Spain from July 5 to 7 in Madrid.
Before that, Phogat will compete in the United World Wrestling 2nd Ranking Series – Polyák Imre and Varga János Memorial from June 6 to 9 in Budapest.
Paris Olympics 2024 In Sights
The MOC has further accepted the request of Long Jumper Shaili Singh and has extended her European training stints. Shaili will now train in Lisbon, Paris, Athens, and Geneva along with her coach Anju Bobby Georges.
The MOC has also cleared the request from shotgun shooters Rajeshwari Kumari and Maheshwari Chauhan and has allowed them to take their personal coaches to the training camp in Italy in June.
Asian Games bronze medalists HS Prannoy, Maisnam Meriraba, Anupama Upadhyay, Atanu Das, and Vishnu Saravanan have also got their requests cleared by the MOC.
