Lakshya Sen has done it. He created history in the Paris Olympics 2024 and became the first Indian shuttler to reach the Semi-Finals in the Olympics. And he did it with style, swag, and by trampling down his opponent.
Lakshya Sen set the world stage on fire when he faced Chou Tien-Chen in the Quarter-Finals. It was one of the best matches of badminton you will ever see as both of them were on top of their game.
Lakshya once again showed why he is considered the comeback king when he won the match after losing the first set. It was a game of grit and determination where no one wanted to give any opening to anyone.
Sensational Smash
From the first set, both of these competitors were on point and played long rallies. No one wanted to give up even a single point. But as the match progressed, Chinese star Tien-Chen started making mistakes and Lakshya did not let the opportunity go.
The best moment of the match came at the halfway stage of the second set when both of them once against started a long rally. After 15 seconds of exchanging shots around, Lakshya played a thumping smash.
The smash was so powerful and so accurate that it put Tien-Chen on the ground as he tried to recover it. This cross-court smash was so wonderful that it took the Chinese national a while to register what went down.
Paris Olympics 2024: New Challenge Ahead
The work for Lakshya Sen is not yet finished though as he still has to win one more match to confirm a medal. He will now either face Viktor Axelsen, number 2 seed, or Loh Kean Yew of Singapore, number 10 seed, depending on the result.
But one this is for sure, neither Lakshya nor now nor even the fans care about rankings and seedings. The way this Indian star is playing, he can take down anyone in front of him.
