Paris Olympics 2024: The Indian wrestlers are not having a good time at the Summer Games so far. After all the drama with Vinesh Phogat, India’s youngest wrestler Antim Panghal has also become the center of attention.
Unlike Phogat, Panghal has negatively garnered attention and has invited herself into a lot of trouble. The matter gets even worse when you realize that Panghal could not follow simple disciplinary rules and got herself kicked out of the village.
After facing a crushing defeat in her opening bout where she lost the match 10-0 on a technicality the whole nation was with Panghal. The federation was with her but now, after this incident, both the fans and the federation are furious with her.
Deported Back To India
After getting knocked out of the Paris Olympics 2024, Antim was expectedly in a bad mood. Instead of the Olympic Village, she went straight to the hotel with her rather than the Olympic Village.
Things got worse when she gave her official accreditation to her younger sister Nisha for collecting her personal belongings from the Games Village and was caught by security.
Nisha was detained by the Paris police and was questioned by the authorities. While Nisha was released after some time, Antim’s accreditation was canceled and she was deported back to India with her team.
Paris Olympics 2024: Suspended
According to various sources, it has been revealed that the federation is not happy with Antim. It has also been revealed there is a lingering feeling that she has caused embarrassment to the whole contingent and everyone is angry.
A contingent source told PTI that “The decision will be formally announced after she reaches India.”
