Indian hockey team were on the receiving end of a heartbreak as they lost the semifinal against Germany at Paris Olympics 2024.

Paris Olympics 2024: What a heartbreaking day it was for the Indian hockey team. They practically missed the finals by just a few inches. If that last shot by Abhishek found the target, we might be looking at something different here.

But, there is no time for excuses now, no time for analyzing things, no time to drop down your shoulders. Because we have got the bronze medal match against Spain now and these players will do everything to get their hands on that medal.

But this loss also means that Indian hero PR Sreejesh will finish his career without an Olympic gold. Arguably, the best goalkeeper in the world for a very long time and he will finish his career without an Olympic gold.

Paris Olympics 2024: Heartbreaking!

It is a pity for hockey that Sreejesh could not finish his career with an Olympic gold. As soon as the final whistle was blown, you could see the pain in his eyes as he took a big sigh to control his tears.

In the post-match interview, Sreejesh opened up about how he was feeling and how hard the last three years have been for this Indian team. He thanked all the fans and stated how India suffered because of the missed chances.

“There were a couple of silly mistakes that cost us and a couple of errors. We could not make an impact in the opposition half.” On being asked about his last match, he stated that his celebration was not important. What important is the team and they will bounce back against Spain.

‘Those Days Were Hard’

Sreejesh was high on emotions and stated that the team has worked hard for the last 3 years to change the Bronze medal to gold. They failed to do that but those 3 years were hard, so it is even more heartbreaking.

Indian skipper Harmanpreet Singh was also emotional and heartbroken. He stated, “We had a dream to win the Gold Medal, but it’s been shattered now. We don’t want to go back to India empty hands so we’ll give our best in the Bronze Medal match”.
