Paris Olympics 2024: Aman Sehrawat has done it and ended this quite underwhelming Summer Games campaign on a high note. He also kept the tradition of the Indian contingent always winning medals in wrestling alive.
It is an inspiring story and something that all of us should be inspired by. Aman lost his parents at a young age and dedicated himself to wrestling. He made Ravi Dahiya his idol and defeated him in the qualification round to qualify for the Paris Olympics 2024.
After a spirited performance, he made sure that he wouldn’t go back empty-handed. And the way Indian wrestling has suffered this year, it was nice to see some positive ending to that.
What A Move!
Aman was facing Darian Cruz of Puerto Rico in the bronze medal match. After a technical knockout defeat in the semi-final, Aman’s confidence had surely taken a knock and it was visible in the early rounds.
Both Aman and Darian started slowly as both wrestlers were fighting for every single point. But the Indian wrestler had far more refined technique and it was visible as Darian had no answers to a few of his moves.
The Indian youngster showcased his dominance in the second half when he completely outplayed his opponent. Aman took 7 points on the trot to kill the game completely as Darian was seemingly tired in the final moments of the match.
Paris Olympics 2024: The End
With this, the Indian campaign at the Paris Olympics 2024 has almost ended. We have a few events left for the remaining two days of the Summer Games. But so far, India has won six medals including 5 bronze and 1 silver.
