Around 10000 athletes are gathering in Paris, France to take part in 32 sports and 329 events. Some special things are awaiting the athletes at the Olympic Village. Olympics are often associated with Hook-ups and parties and Olympic Village plays a crucial role in it. To prevent unnecessary interaction, the Paris Olympics is back with ‘Anti-Sex’ beds. Introduced in Tokyo 2020, the Anti-Sex beds are small and lightweight beds made of cardboard by the Japanese company, Airweave.
About ‘Anti-Sex’ Beds
These Anti-Sex beds were first introduced in the Tokyo Olympics to prevent athletes from having unnecessary contact due to COVID-19. Paris Olympics also used the same beds for this edition. These beds are made of cardboard and have twin-sized mattresses which means athletes will not have enough space to cuddle, preventing intimacy among athletes. These beds are constructed by the same Japanese company, Airweave. The Olympic officials said that the primary reason for opting for these beds is the sustainability of the beds. The mattresses and cardboard frames are 100% recyclable and these bed bases are made of recycled cardboard.
Athletes Review the Beds
Many international athletes from all around the world took to their social media platforms and posted their demonstrations. Australian Tennis players Daria Saville and Ellen Perez took to Instagram and tested the beds.
