Pat Cummins is one of the greatest modern-day fast bowlers. His performance increased tenfold in the longest format of the game. He is the perfect red ball bowler that you want in your team.
He has also been a great captain for his national side. In the last year, he has won everything for his team. Cummins is the golden boy of Australia and they would like to keep him as long as possible.
One of the reasons why he is such a good player is because of his workload management. Cummins knows when to take a break from cricket to prepare for many important series/tournaments in the future.
Pat Cummins On A Break!
The Australian skipper has once again decided to take a break from cricket. Cummins recently played in the USA’s Major League Cricket and has decided to take a 2-month break before the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Cummins stated “Everyone that comes back after a break is a little bit fresher, you never regret it. I’ve been bowling non-stop since the World Test Championship final, nearly 18 months ago.
This gives me a good seven or eight weeks completely off bowling so the body can recover, and then I start building up again for the summer.”
Border-Gavaskar Trophy!
The BGT is less than 100 days away now and everyone is excited for it. Cummins wants to win the trophy as he has not won it before. “It’s the trophy I haven’t won before. This is the one trophy a lot of our group haven’t ticked off,” Cummins stated
Many experts and former cricketers are also looking forward to this series. Australia has not won the last 4 BGT series and wants to change things around. Ricky Ponting believes Aussies are going to dominate the series meanwhile Ravi Shastri predicts India will win the series.
