PBKS vs GT IPL 2023: The ongoing 18th match of the Indian Premier League is being played between Punjab Kings and defending champions Gujarat Titans at Mohali. Hardik Pandya led Gujarat Titans won the toss and opt to field first. They have been successful in restricting the batting by PBKS, however, a video of Matthew Short hitting a long six has now gone viral on social media.
Matthew Short goes big
Matthew Short is renowned for scoring runs and go for big hits. In today’s match against Gujarat Titans, he once again showed why he is called one of the best of them. PBKS failed to get a dominating start at their home ground. The team got a major & early setback as they lost opener Prabhsimran for the second consecutive duck.
Matthew Short came to the crease after the first wicket fell down. Alzarri Jospeh was tasked to bowl the fifth over of the first innings. Matthew took onto him and slammed a boundary on the third ball. The bowler couldn’t control his line and also gave away a wide. However, on the last ball, Short decided to go for a big hit. He slammed the good length ball for a big maximum over midwicket. However, his inning was shortlived as he could score just 36 runs off 24 balls, hitting six boundaries and one maximum.
