PBKS vs MI IPL 2023: After the rain played spoilsport in the first clash of the doubleheader today, the second match between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians are currently battling out at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali. However, its the home team again that has failed to pace up with momentum. After being invited to bat first, PBKS had a poor start, especially with skipper Shikhar Dhawan failing.
Shikhar Dhawan dismissed cheaply
PBKS was looking to shift gears and change the momentum as they had scored 58 runs after seven overs without losing any wickets. Piyush Chawla was tasked by skipper Rohit Sharma to bring in another breakthrough in the next over. He came with his usual length of delivery but was slammed for a straight boundary by Shikhar, who danced down the crease for the hit.
However, he made a comeback on the last ball and threw a googly outside off this time. Shikhar again tried to go for a big hit but was dismissed by the wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan quickly. Shikhar was finally dismissed after several respites. He stood in shock for a moment but ultimately had to walk off the crease.
