Doctors attending Brazilian football legend Pele have informed that his health has worsened during his stay to regulate cancer medication.
Brazilian football great Pele under “elevated care” related to “Kidney and cardiac dysfunctions”
According to a statement from Pele’s hospital, Albert Einstein, the 82-year-old is receiving “elevated care” for “Kidney and heart dysfunctions” and that Pele’s cancer has progressed. However, there are no indications of a respiratory infection, which COVID 19 would have made worse.

Pele continues his fight against cancer, undergoing chemotherapy, and had his colon removed in September 2021
In his battle against cancer, Pele is getting chemotherapy after having a colon cancer tumour removed in September 2021. If illness had progressed to other organs, neither his family nor his hospital have made that statement. According to media sources, Pele’s chemotherapy is failing, and doctors have opted to switch him to palliative care. Although this allegation has been refuted by Pele’s relatives.
Kely Nascimento, a daughter of Pele, is reportedly going to spend Christmas in the hospital.
Despite being ill and frail Pele followed FIFA 2022 World Cup in Doha, which was won by Argentina and he also congratulated Lionel Messi for winning FIFA World Cup 2022 Final. Leading celebrities and football stars have also paid tribute and get well soon wishes to the legend.
Pele, who continues to be one of the team’s top goal scorers with 77 goals, guided Brazil to victories in the 1958, 1962, and 1970 World Cups. During the most recent World Cup, Neymar tied Pele’s record.
