He said, “Seven days have passed since you left.” He wrote in his instagram post’s caption, “Its been seven days since you left All our lives, many people loved to compare us. You were a genius who charmed the world. A magician with the ball on his feet. A true legend. But most of all, to me you will always be a great friend with an even bigger heart.” He continued saying, “Today, I know that the world would be a lot better if we compare less and admire each other more. So I mean to say that you are incomparable.”

Maradona led Argentina to one World Cup victory, while Pele led Brazil to three. Pele couldn’t help but smile at the idea of Maradona celebrating in heaven even though Brazil’s South American rivals won another World Cup title this month. Pele said, “Your trajectory is marked by honesty. You always declared your loves and heartbreaks to the four winds. And with this particular way of yours, teaches us that we have to love and say “I love you” much more often. Your quick departure didn’t let me say, so I just write: I love you, Diego. My great friend thank you so much for all our journey One day in heaven, we will play on the same team together.
