Hobson and Connolly seal the deal

Earlier, the Heat won the toss and chose to bat first. The men in teal scored 7-175, with Nathan McSweeney leading the way with 41 runs (37). The highest target that has ever been successfully chased in a BBL finale was 176. Due to the Australia Tour of India, both teams were without a number of key players. But Ashton Turner and Pierson are utilising the available squads to their fullest potential.

Connolly was dropped earlier when he was at the score of 21. However, that chance there sealed the match as Perth needed just 10 runs off the last over and Nick Hobson did not waste time as he smashed six on the second ball and the fateful boundary on the third ball. Apart from the last cameo, the skipper Ashton Turner scored valiant 53 off 32 balls. Hobson scored 18 off 7 balls while other players could not do much significant as they kept on losing the wickets at regular interval.

Overall, this is the fifth time they are lifting the title while previously winning in 2013-14, 2014-15, 2016-17, 2021-22.
