Prithvi Shaw: It looks like more and more youngsters are eyeing County Cricket to get the much-needed experience. Recently, Indian bowlers Arshdeep Singh and Navdeep Saini joined county cricket and performed impressively in the matches.
And now it looks like, Indian batting prodigy, Prithvi Shaw will also be seen playing in County Cricket. And not only that, he has signed with a team that the ‘Dada’ of the Indian cricket team used to play. Northamptonshire has signed Prithvi Shaw for the remainder of the year.
This will make him the fourth high-profile Indian cricketer to play in the county this year. According to Times Of India, Shaw has already signed a full-year contract with Northamptonshire. He will join the county club after Duleep Trophy.
Project Team India
It looks like, Prithvi Shaw is in full mood to prove to BCCI selectors that he deserves a spot in the Indian team. For that, he will play in Duleep Trophy and then in the county and Royal London One-Day Cup. He looks like a man on a mission.
He will join the list of some of the greats of the Indian team that played for Northamptonshire previously. The list involves Bishan Singh Bedi, Sourav Ganguly, and Anil Kumble. He will become the fifth player to appear in the county this season following Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Arshdeep Singh, and Navdeep Saini.
This signing not only will help him attract the selectors but will also help in getting used to English surfaces and swing bowling. An experience that he can definitely use after already proving his worth in Ranji last season.
