Priyanka Gandhi Vadra Joins Protesting Wrestlers at Jantar Mantar, Calls for WFI President’s Dismissal

Priyanka Gandhi: After meeting protesting wrestlers at Jantar Mantar on Saturday, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra called for the dismissal of WFI president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who is being accused of sexual harassment by female wrestlers. The general secretary of the Congress charged that the Government was “protecting” Bhushan.

Priyanka arrived at Jantar Mantar in the morning and spoke with the wrestlers before departing for a series of election-related events in Karnataka later in the day. She was observed listening to renowned female wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik.

Priyanka Gandhi asked for the FIR’s Copy

Speaking to reporters at Jantar Mantar, Priyanka demanded that the wrestlers receive copies of the Friday’s filed FIRs. ‘Everyone tweets about these girls when they receive medals and claims they are our nation’s pride, but when they are on the street and asking to be heard, no one is ready to do so. If FIRs have been filed, copies should be given to them,’ Priyanka said.
